The Last Two Months: Part Deux

Fourth of July Festivities.

Sitting on the Capitol steps on July 3rd watching the rehearsal for "The Capitol Fourth" broadcast.

Our cheesy campaign photos in case we ever run for office.

National Archives featured the reading of the Declaration of Independence.

I wish men still dressed like this!

Friends. :)

Rocking out... Mark in his glasses he bought that day.

The fireworks over the Potomac River.

Church Picnic and "Baptism by the Bay" at the Chesapeake Bay, MD.

National Cathedral, DC - who knew they built churches like this is America!

My artistic photographic attempt.

The facade.
The interior.

The Space Window, honoring the man's landing on the moon, which includes a fragment of lunar rock at its center.

The sunny day quickly turned into a thunderstorm! We escaped but not without getting wet.

The Last Two Months

Well, I guess we have been slacking on our blog entries since our last one was May 28th... So here are some highlights from the last two months starting with our trip to Spain at the beginning of June!

First stop, Barcelona...

La Sagrada Familia Cathedral - designed by Gaudi

Park Guell also designed by Gaudi

Magic Fountain in front of the Palau Nacional museum

Cool picture compliments of Mark

Casa Battlo at night - Gaudi once again

Tapas from Tapas 24 - amazing restaurant

From there, we took the bus to San Sebastian...

View of the city from the top of Monte Igueldo

Mark enjoying Playa de la Concha.

Fresh fish everyday!

Then, we headed down South to Granada to visit Mark's study abroad home from Spring '01.

Mark's spanish Senora, Encarna, who cooked and cleaned for him for 6 months. It was so great to see her!! She had paella waiting for us when we arrived.

Paula and Inma, resident directors for Mark's study abroad program.

Mirador (viewpoint) for the Alhambra, a great spot for beautiful views.

3 words... Chocolate con Churros!

Beautiful cathedral in Granada.

View from the Alhambra looking out at the Albaicin. "There's no greater shame in life than being blind in Granada".

Mark took 2000 pictures and we posted 300 of them on his facebook. Click these links to see some more:
